Vaillant & Glow-worm Approved Installer

Which means a boiler from either brand, fitted by us, can have its extended guarantee of up to 10 years registered on the day, rather than the standard cover a non-approved fitter leaves you with.

We also install and service Worcester Bosch, Ideal, Baxi, Viessmann and Potterton, along with most other major brands, each carrying its own manufacturer warranty.

Every installation is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer and notified to Building Control, so the paperwork is right as well as the work.

What customers say

5.0 from 4 reviews on Google

I have used Elite Blue Gas to fit a new boiler and tank and found their work to a high standard. I have since asked Craig to visit on a matter unrelated to the heating system and he was very helpful.

What a service actually covers

Most people book a service without ever being told what was checked. Here is the circuit an engineer works through, in order.

  1. Gas in

Working pressure and standing pressure at the appliance, plus a tightness test on the installation pipework.

  2. Combustion

Flue gas analysis at the terminal. The ratio of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide tells you whether the burner is set right.

  3. Heat exchanger

Inspected for corrosion, blockage and the sooting that follows a poor flame picture. Stripped down only if the readings call for it, not as a matter of course.

  4. Water out

System pressure, expansion vessel charge, and the safety devices that are supposed to stop all of this if something goes wrong.

A gas flame should be blue

When an appliance burns cleanly, the flame is blue and steady. When it burns yellow or orange, it is not getting enough air, and incomplete combustion is how carbon monoxide gets made. Carbon monoxide has no colour and no smell, so the flame is often the only warning you get.

Blue

Burning correctly

Crisp blue cone, steady, quiet. The appliance is getting the air it needs.

Yellow

Book a service

Lazy yellow or orange flame, soot marks, staining around the appliance.

If you can smell gas, do not wait for an engineer. Turn the supply off at the meter, open the windows, leave electrical switches alone and call the National Gas Emergency Service. 0800 111 999.
